Financial Transparency
Where Your Support Goes
We would rather publish a real number late than a round number early. Anything below marked as a placeholder has not yet been through our accounting.
The Model
Four sources of money, one set of programs.
Product sales. We sell water bottles, filtration and bottled water. Margins from those sales help finance our charitable programs. Margins vary by product and by order, which is why we do not claim a fixed percentage of every purchase reaches a project.
Donations. One-time and recurring gifts, restricted or unrestricted. These are tax-deductible.
Partnerships and sponsorships. Companies and foundations funding specific projects or matching supporter giving.
Grants. Institutional funding, where our work fits a funder's programme.
Money from all four goes to the same three places: building boreholes, the Innovation Grant fund, and the administrative cost of running a compliant U.S. nonprofit.

Where Your Support Goes
We would rather show you real numbers late than round numbers early. Anything below marked as a placeholder has not yet been through our accounting.
Typical borehole project cost
Varies with location, drilling depth, water table and site access.
Boreholes completed to date
Across communities in Lagos and Kano. Every one remains free to use.
Innovation Grant range
Per grant, in the current cycle. Most awards fall in the middle of that range.
Program expenditure
Publish only from filed accounts. Do not estimate.
Administrative expenditure
Publish only from filed accounts. Do not estimate.

We do not publish claims about a fixed percentage of every purchase going to projects, because product margins vary by item and by order. When our audited figures are available they will be published here in full.
Governance
The organisation, in plain terms
Everything a donor, partner or regulator would reasonably want to confirm before giving us money.

The Love Water is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution unless otherwise stated.
A product purchase is not a charitable donation. You are buying a product at fair market value; the proceeds help finance our charitable programs. Only gifts made through our Donate page are tax-deductible.
